Borena Sayint National Park

The BSNP is a home to 44 species of mammals, including the endemic gelada baboon Theropithecus gelada, Ethiopian wolf Canis simensis, and Menilk’s bushbuck Traglaphus scriptus meneliki as well as 232 species of birds. The area encompasses three vegetation zones the Afro-montane belt (1,900–3,000 m asl) dominated by African juniper Juniperous procera, African redwood Hagenia abyssinica, and curry bush Hypericum revolutum; the Subafro-alpine belt (3,000–3,200 m asl) dominated by tree heath Erica arborea); and the Afro-alpine belt (>3200 m above sea level) dominated by everlasting flower Helichrysum spp  and common lady’s mantle Alchemilla spp.

Abune Yosef Mountain

During treks, visitors enjoy friendly hospitality in community managed guests houses built out of local materials. Treks in Abune Yoseph bring visitors to over 4,000m and are not for the faint of heart. However, those that make the climb find the views and experience well worth it! About 220 bird species have been identified on the Abune Yoseph massif. The Abune Yoseph area is one of the most important bird area for bird watching and trekking in the country.

The Abune Yoseph Mountains also attracts a few pairs of Golden Eagles - a species that is most common in Bale Mountains to the south. There are 43 known species of mammal on the Abune Yoseph massif.  Of which, seven species can be found in Abune Yoseph. The most spectacular of these are the Ethiopian wolf and gelada. Other species to look out for include: Golden jackal, hyena, caracal, leopard, rock hyrax, duiker, klipspringer and Starck's hare

Simien Mountain National Park

   

The best way to explore the Simien Mountains is on foot or mule back Several overnight options are available. trial connecting Sankaber, Chennek, Gich, Imetgogo and Aynameda are recommended to have a look Walia Ibex, Ethiopian Wolf and others endemics mammals. Anyone who is interested to make a trek to Ras Dashen/Ras Dejen might take 3-day hike from Chennek camp. Vehicle can be taken to drive from Debark town to Chennek and Buhait. Short walk can be made on the way.
