The trekking routes are selected based on the vegetation description of the park.

Trekking 5 days

Day 1: Arrive Gelegu, Quara town

Day 2: trekking The sites are major: the northern part and its associated buffer zone areas (Amijale, Marwuha, Grara, Bermil, and Amrakuba), which scrub and woodland vegetation is the major description;

Day 2: The eastern including the nearby ‘woreda’ town, Mehadid, Gelegu river, riverine woodland, and woodland is the major ones;

Day 3: The central (Alatish river, Megenagna area up to Demir the center), where riverine, wood grassland is the major one;

Day 4: the Southeastern side (Bambaho to Ayima river), where riverine and open sandy woodland is the major;

Day 5:  finally the central, south and southwestern up to Omedlla, which grass, acacia woodland is dominated).

The special birds are Black-billed Barbet Lybius guifsobalito, Black-headed Gonolek Laniarius erythrogaster, Broad-billed Roller Eurystomus glaucurus, Egyptian Plover Pluvianus aegyptius, Four-banded Sandgrouse Pterocles quadricinctus, Grey-headed Kingfisher Halcyon badia, Red-billed Hornbill Tockus erythrorhynchus, Rose-ringed Parakeet Psittacula krameri, Rueppell's Glossy-Starling Lamprotornis purpuropterus, Spotted Thick-knee Burhinus capensis, Stone Partridge Ptilopachus petrosus,White-headed (Cretzschmar's) Babbler Turdoides leucocephalus. In addition , Savanna (common) Baboon Papio cynocephalus Anubis, Grivet Monkey Chlorocebus aethiops, Patas Monkey Erythrocebus patas, Common Warthog Phacochoerus africanus, Greater kudu Tragelaphus strepsiceros, Oribi Ourebia ourebi, and others mammals are common to see.
